The T7230A transmit framer inserts the data at the transmit facility input port (XFD) into the F
S
bits of the framing
bit. The transmit framer synchronizes on XFD = 0011100111 . . . and forces a superframe based on this pattern. It
is the system’s responsibility to ensure valid XFD data. The valid XFD pattern is shown in Table 11. Table 12 shows
the encoding for the line switch field.
