On reads, these bits represent the interrupt status for the corresponding general purpose
I/O pin. If the interrupt type for the pin is selected as edge trigger,

For this interrupt type, once it is triggered, the status bit can only be cleared by writing a
1 to that bit.
If the interrupt type for the pin is selected as level trigger,

For this interrupt type, these bits represent the real time status of each pins and cannot
be cleared until the pin returns to it’s inactive state.
On writes, if the interrupt type for the pin is selected as edge trigger, these bits clear the
corresponding interrupt status register to zero.

If the interrupt type for the pin is selected as level trigger, writing to these bits will have
no effect.
These interrupts may be masked by the GPIO Port B Interrupt Mask Register,
GPIO[28h].
Note: After changing type or polarity of the interrupt, interrupt status should be cleared immediately to
prevent generating false interrupt during the transition.
