If IRDA[00h] WO bit 0 is set to 0, this bit selects the Receive Data Length and indicates
the actual number of bytes received including the four CRC bytes (if any). This counter
is reset by a Receiver Reset, IRDA[00h] WO bit 4 = 1, or when reception is disabled,
IRDA[04h] WO bit 13 = 0.
bits 15–0
Transmit Data Bits [15:0]
This register contains the IrDA FIR transmission data. Write to this register only when
not using the DMA mode (IRDA[00h] WO bit 13 = 0). When DMA mode is used, this
register address (F800050Ch) should be programmed as the destination address in the
DMAC.
Note: The Absolute Address of this register (F800050Ch) must be programmed as the source address in
the DMA Controller (DMA[00h], DMA[10h], or DMA[30h], depending on the channel used). The
receive data must be read within 30 microseconds after End-of-Frame is received.

These bits are reserved and may read random data.

Echo Enable
When this bit is written 1, Echo mode is enabled. Data is received from the transmit
LED of the same transceiver, thus echoing the transmit data. When this bit is written 0,
Echo mode is disabled. Under normal operation this bit should always be 0.

These bits are reserved and must be written 0.
bit 8
SIP Transmit
When this bit is written 1, a SIP transmission is initiated in the current mode. The SIP
transmit state bit, IRDA[10h] RO bit 8, is set to 1. After completion of the SIP
transmission IRDA[10h] RO bit 8 is set to 0.
bits 7–0
Local Address Bits [7:0]
These bits set the local address of the device, which is compared with the address field
in the frame received to accept or reject the data. See IRDA[04h] WO bit 11.
