Absolute maximum ratings
This product contains devices to protect the inputs against damage due to high static
voltages. However it is advisable to take normal precaution to avoid application of any
voltage higher than the specified maximum rated voltages.
The average chip-junction temperature, Tj, can be calculated using the following equation:
Tj = TA + (PD ΘJA)
where:

TA is the ambient temperature in °C
●
ΘJA is the package junction-to-ambient thermal resistance, which is 34 °C/W
●
PD = PINT + PPORT
–PINT is the chip internal power
–PPORT is the power dissipation on Input and Output pins, user determined
If PPORT is neglected, an approximate relationship between PD is:
PD = K / (Tj + 273 °C)
And, solving first equations:
K = PD (TA + 273 °C) + ΘJA x PD

K is a constant for the particular case, which can be determined through last equation by
measuring PD at equilibrium, for a known TA.
Using this value of K, the value of PD and TJ can be obtained by solving first and second
equation, iteratively for any value of TA.
