CHAPTER 4: PERIPHERAL CIRCUITS AND OPERATION (Serial Interface)
4.9.4 Mask option
Since the input/output terminal of the serial interface is dual used with the I/O ports (P10–P13), the mask
option that selects the specification for the I/O port is also applied to the serial interface.
(1) Output specification
The output specification of the terminals SOUT, SCLK (during the master mode) and SRDY (during the
slave mode) that is used as output in the input/output port of the serial interface is respectively
selected by the mask options of P11, P12 and P13.
Either complementary output or N channel (Nch) open drain as output specification may be selected.
However, even if Nch open drain has been selected, application on the terminal of voltage exceeding
power source voltage is not permitted.
(2) Pull up resistor
Whether or not the SIN (P10) terminal and SCLK (P02) terminal (during slave mode) will use built-in
pull up resistor can be selected.
Normally, the use of pull up resistor should be selected.
(3) FOUT frequency
The FOUT frequency, which is selected by the mask option to select the output port R02 special output
specification, is used for the synchronous clock. When the serial interface is used, the FOUT frequency
must be selected even if the R02 port is not used as the FOUT output.
It can be selected from the four types listed below.
1. OSC1
2. OSC1 /8
3. OSC1 /64
4. OSC3
