R00–R03: Output port data (A0H)
Sets the output data for the output ports.
When "1" is written:
High output
When "0" is written:
Low output
Reading:
Valid
The output port terminals output the data written in the corresponding registers (R00–R03) without
changing it. When "1" is written in the register, the output port terminal goes high (VDD), and when "0" is
written, the output port terminal goes low (VSS).
At initial reset, these registers are set to "0".
When using as special output ports
FOUT (R02)
In order for the S1C62920 to provide a clock signal to an external device, the FOUT signal can be output
from the R02 terminal by setting the mask option.
When FOUT output has been set, turning the FOUT signal ON and OFF can be controlled using the R02
register.
When the R02 register is set to "1", the FOUT signal is output from the R02 terminal. When "0" is set, the
R02 terminal goes low level (VSS).
FOUT signal frequency can be selected from among 4 types as shown below by setting the mask option.
(1) 512 Hz
(2) 4,096 Hz
(3) fOSC1 (OSC1 oscillation frequency)
(4) fOSC3 (OSC3 oscillation frequency)
Note: FOUT signal frequency that is selected is also used for the clock source in the master mode of the
serial interface. Therefore, any one of the 4 types of frequency must be selected for the serial
interface even if "FOUT is not used" is selected by the mask option.
See Section 4.9, "Serial Interface" for details.
A hazard may occur when the FOUT signal is turned ON or OFF.
Figure 4.5.3.1 shows the output waveform of FOUT.
