The state diagram of the vertical direction is controlled by the value of the cluster counter.
The period of
outputting the signal is assigned the Disp state.
When the value of the cluster counter matches the value
of the VDP register, it ends to output the signal and the current state is transmitted from the Disp state to
the Fporch state.
In the Fporch state, it waits the external synchronous pulse to be asserted.
In
detecting the external synchronous pulse to be asserted, the current state is transmitted to the Sync state.
In the Sync state, it waits for the negative edge of the external synchronous signal.
In detecting the
negative edge, the current state is transmitted to the Bporch state.
When the value of the cluster counter
matches the values of the VTR register, the cluster counter is reset, and also the current state is
transmitted to the Disp state and it starts to display the next field.
