De scrip ion
The EM6124 is a low power CMOS LCD con rol er and
driver. The 8, 16, 20 and 24 way mul i plex are dig ally pro
gram ma ble by the com mand byte. One ad di ional line can
be added for Icons or In verted Video by pro gram ming 9,
17, 21 or 25 way mul i plex. The dis play re resh is han dled
on chip by an in er nal RC os cil a or via one selectable 25 x
116 RAM which holds the LCD con ent driven by the
driver. LCD pix els (or seg ments) are ad dressed on a one
to one ba sis with the 25 x 116 bit RAM (a set bit cor e
sponds to an ac i vated LCD pixel). The EM6124 has very
low dy namic cur ent con sump ion, typ cally 70 μA at V
= 2 V, V
= 7 V mak ng it par ic u arly at rac ive for por a

range on sup ply volt ages and tem per a ure of ers much
ap pli ca ion flex bil ty. The LCD volt age, bias gen er a ion
and frame fre quency are gen er ated on chip. The clock
sig nal can be used to shift and to latch the data into the
RAM.
