Transferring Parallel Data
Interface with an 8-Bit MPU
Eight-bit data can be transferred in parallel by setting the IM1 and IM0 pins to the V
CC
and GND levels,
respectively (Figure 24). The
HD66705U
can interface directly with an 8-bit bus synchronized with the E
clock, or with an 8-bit MCU through an I/O port (Figure 25). When the number of I/O lines or chip
packaging size is limited, a 4-bit bus interface or even serial data transfer should be used.
