1.
Ensure that the power cable is connected.
2.
Ensure that the RS-232 cable is connected.
3.
Change the baud-rate setting. the default value is
19200
. A lower setting usually improves communica-
tions reliability.
4.
The Emulator hardware RESET button was pressed while the GUI was running.
There are three responses to the message:
Abort
Quits the GUI altogether.
Retry
Resets the GUI by reinitializing. You are returned to the initial screen with the
ZiLOG logo.
Ignore
Attempts to reestablish communication between the GUI and emulator without reinitializing.
PROGRAM COUNTER JUMPS TO AN UNEXPECTED ADDRESS
1.
Any instruction other than a
DI
instruction was used to disable interrupts.
2.
The stack over flowed into the general register locations.
3.
Extra
POP
,
PUSH
,
IRET
, or
RET
was encountered.
4.
Program keeps resetting.
5.
Program counter rolled over from value
FFFF
to
0000
and proceeded back to beginning of program.
6.
Watch-Dog Timer (WDT) was not refreshed.
7.
Unintialized interrupt vector was activated.
