APPLICATION NOTES:
Serial Port Programming
The XRD9810/12 is programmed through a standard three pin serial interface. SDI (serial data
input), SCLK (serial shift clock) and LOAD (positive edge write enable) are the control signals
for loading the serial port. There are three address bits and eight data bits for configuring the
internal registers. To program the serial port pull LOAD low, write the address bits (MSB first)
and then the data bits (MSB first) and then pull LOAD high. The data is written on the rising
edge of LOAD.

Mode 1. Default Configuration, CCD, AC Coupled Pixel-by-Pixel Mode (#00000000000)
The XRD9810/12 is powered up in the default configuration, mode 1. Table 4. in the data sheet
defines the configuration register #1. The default mode or programming all zeros through the
serial port configures the XRD9810/12 for AC coupled CCD applications. Figure 10 is a typical
application circuit for Mode 1. On this mode, the input caps (C1 - C4) are clamped at every
