To start the DTMF detector for time slot 2 the host would write 0x1650 to address 0x0082.

To read the DTMF detector result for time slot 2 the host would read and then clear the value at address 0x0627.

To terminate the DTMF detector routine and start the TX path inactive routine for time slot 2, the host would write
0x0610 at address 0x0082.
Changing the TCW (time-slot control word for powerup) or TX path coefficients will have no effect when the DTMF
detection routine is running. SDX is active, but disconnected from the transmit path, when the DTMF detection rou-
tine is deployed.
The DTMF detector shares memory with the caller ID generator. This means that caller ID generator routines
should be finished prior to modifying the TX ac routine control word for DTMF detection.
The DTMF detector is required to operate with a dial tone present. To accomplish this, several filters are employed
(see Figure 2). The equalizer is used to compensate for termination impedance. The default setting of this filter
(900
) performs well with any termination. The dial tone filter is comprised of two notch filters, each filter removes
one of the dial-tone frequencies. The coefficients for this filter reside at RAM address 0x071d—0x0724. These
coefficients should be changed if the default dial tone is not used. The default dial tone is the 350 Hz and 440 Hz
used in the U.S. Coefficients for other dial tone frequencies can be obtained by contacting your Lucent Account
Representative.
