T8531 and T8531A Tone Processing
Introduction
This document specifies the interface between the host microcontroller and the T8531 (all references include
T8531A unless otherwise specified) device for controlling the following embedded tone-processing algorithms:

This user manual is designed to be used in conjunction with the T8531/T8532 Multichannel Programmable
Codec Chip SetData Sheet and the T8531/T8532 User Manual.

DTMF Detection

Complies with Telcordia* GR-506-CORE requirements (LSSGR: signaling for analog interfaces).
I
Support for up to 16 DTMF detectors (one per time slot).
I
Can be active on same time slot simultaneously with call progress tone generation.
Caller ID Generation
I
Complies with TelcordiaGR-30-CORE and TR-NWT-000031 (CLASS feature: calling number delivery)
requirements.

Support for up to 16 active caller ID generator routines (one per time slot).

Support of various configuration options.
Call Progress Tone Generation

Complies with TelcordiaGR-506-CORE requirements.

Support for up to 16 call progress tone generation routines (one per time slot).

Output signal consists either of a single sine wave or two separate sine waves summed together.

Can be active on same time slot simultaneously with DTMF detection.
