1 INTRODUCTION
The125SeriesWi125isasmallOEMsurfacemountGPSmodulespecificallydesignedfor
useinsynchronizationandtiminginWiMaxapplications.Thiscompactmodulehasanon-
boardprogrammableNCOoscillatorthatoutputsasynthesizedfrequencyupto30MHzthat
issteeredbyaGPSreceiver.Theself-surveymodeofoperationallowsthereceivertoenter
apositionholdmodeallowingaccuratetimingtobecontinuedwithonlyonesatellitebeing
tracked.
Additionally,the125SeriesWi125hasphasealignmentof1PPS/10MHzwithaverystable
holdover.The1PPS/10MHzoutputsmaintainphasealignmentwithholdoverbeingbaseonly
onthelocaloscillator,dismissingspuriousGPSmeasurementsduringreacquisition.Whenthe
receiverregainsGPSlockafteraperiodofholdover,the1PPSand10MHzoutputsmaintain
phasealignmentandareoffsetinfrequencyatthemaximumrateof100ppbuntilthe1PPS
alignswiththatoftheGPSsolution.Thisslowrecoveryfromholdoverallowsforuninterrupted
operationoftheWiMaxbasestation.
TheWi125hasahighlyaccurateoutputfrequency,whichcanachievefullPRCMTIE
performance.AdditionallyitcantracksatellitesandprovideGPSsynchronizationinweak
signalareasincludingindoorapplications,reducingtheneedforhighantennaplacement.
TheWi125isRoHScompliantandanexceptionallysmallsurfacemountpackagewitha
highlyintegratedarchitecturethatrequiresaminimumofexternalcomponentsallowingeasy
integrationintohostsystems.
