Usage Considerations
The IC may be destroyed in case of a short-circuit across outputs, a short-circuit to power supply or a short-circuit
to ground. This possibility should be fully considered in the design of the output, VCC and ground lines.
It should be ensured that the device is inserted properly. The IC may be damaged if it is inserted in the wrong
orientation.
If the device is damaged, a large current may continue to flow through the motor driver stage as a secondary
effect. Therefore, Toshiba recommends that a fuse be connected to the power supply line at the driver stage.
