For Lucent Technol-
ogies’ T7234, T7237, and T7256 (SCNT1 family of
devices).

. Primary (line-side) overvoltage and
overcurrent protection, secondary (device-side)
overvoltage protection, two board footprints to
accommodate U-interface transformers from
several vendors.

. Overvoltage protection, high-
frequency common-mode choke, S/T line termina-

General-Purpose Interface
. A general-purpose
interface is provided on the board (J3), allowing
access to the T7237 or T7256 TDM highway sig-
nals, serial microprocessor interface signals, and
control signals. External control circuits, such as
the Lucent Technologies SPEC_V2 board, can
connect to this interface to allow access to the
SCNT1 Family microprocessor registers.

ADS Adapter Interface
. An interface to a Lucent
Technologies FADS adapter card, J4, is provided.
The adapter card connects the SCNT1-RDB to the
connectors on the Motorola* MC68302 Family
Application Development System (68302FADS) so
that the microprocessor port on the SCNT1-RDB
can be controlled by the serial control port (SCP)
on the MC68302, and the TDM highway can con-
nect to the serial communication controller (SCC)
ports on the MC68302. This facilitates the develop-
ment of ISDN applications based on the Motorola
MC68302.

PLD Prototype Area
. An Altera
EPM7032/64
EPLD socket is provided to accommodate various
interface circuit schemes on the board for custom
application development. Critical board signals are
routed to the EPLD to provide as much flexibility as
possible. A portion of the prototype EPLD is
required in order to interface to the Motorola
MC68302 FADS board.
