FUNCTIONALDESCRIPTION
The STV5730 operates in ”mixed mode” or ”full
page mode”:
- Mixed mode : the device is line locked to the
incomingCVBS signal.The textissuperimposed
overtheCVBSinputeitherinB&Wortranslucent.
Itmayalsobesuperimposedincolorbyusingthe
R/G/B outputs.
- Full pagemode : the devicegeneratesa colored
PAL or NTSC CVBS output and simultaneous
R/G/Boutputs.Both”normalfullpage”and”video
full page”modesare supportedbythe STV5730.
In the ”normal full page”the screen background
is uniformelycolored, while the ”video fullpage”
mode permits to display the unlocked VIDEO IN
signal in the screen backgroundarea.
It performs the followingtext features:
- Page composition: 11 rows X28 characters
- Number of displayedcharacters: 308(max)
- Character composition: 12 dots X 18 lines
- ROMcharacterset: 128userdefinablecharacters
- Screendisplaypositions:58horizontalpositions,
63 verticalpositions
- Row positionoffset , each row : Xoffsetfrom 0 to
+15, Yoffsetfrom -17 to +17
- Display enable : each row or page
- Charactercolor : 1 out of 8, each character

They also may be written sequentially, starting with any character address.
