Excitation Mode Switching (MD) Operation
The following sequence is performed if the MD pin state is switched while power is applied to the motor.
1. When switching MD from high
→ low (2W1-2 phase to 1-2 phase) at positions number (1) to (3) or (5) to (7), the
position transitions to (4) at the next CLK rising edge, and operation switches to 1-2 phase excitation mode.
2. When switching MD from high
→ low (2W1-2 phase to 1-2 phase) at positions number (0), (4), or (8), the position
transitions to the next 1-2 phase position at the next CLK rising edge, and operation switches to 1-2 phase excitation
mode.
3. When switching MD from low
→ high (1-2 phase to 2W1-2 phase), the position transitions to the next 2W1-2 phase
position at the next CLK rising edge, and operation switches to 2W1-2 phase excitation mode.
4. If MD switches after a CLK falling edge, since MD switching is confirmed at the next CLK rising edge, the position
transition from the previous position to the next position and the excitation mode transitions on the following CLK
cycle.
