Test Procedures
Use the Sanyo evaluation board for the following tests.
1. Sensitivity
Use the CCD-SY1 (manufactured by Wakasa Optical Co., Ltd.) as the light source, and illuminate the surface of the
device to an intensity of 7 lux. Use the T8331 manufactured by Advantest to measure the CCD Ye output from center
of the screen as shown in the figure below to determine the sensitivity.
Determine the R and B gains from the following formulas.
GR = G/(Ye-G) = G/R
GB = G/(Cy-G) = G/B
2. Image signal unevenness
Perform this test under the following conditions.
1. Standard drive conditions (See the device specifications.)
2. Use a Halogen lamp with a color temperature of 3200 °K.
3. Use a C-500 (1 mm thick) IR blocking filter.
Set the CCD surface illumination to 7 lux and divide the screen into 45 blocks as shown below. Measure the average
value for each block and determine the maximum, minimum, and mean values. Determine the ratio of the difference
(between the maximum and the minimum values) and the mean value.
<Maximum of the block averages> – <Minimum of the block averages>
VF = —————————————————————————————
<Mean of the block averages>
3. Saturated signal
Set up the following conditions using the Sanyo evaluation unit.
1. Standard drive conditions (See the device specifications.)
2. Light source: The LV-2001 pattern box manufactured by Kyoritsu Electronics with an intensity of 870 NITS
and a color temperature of 3100 °K.
3. Lens: Fujinon HF16A with the aperture fully open.
Measure the CCD output signal at the center of the screen under these conditions.
