DESCRIPTION:
This32-bittransparentD-typelatchisbuiltusingadvancedCMOStechnol-
ogy. The device can be used as a single 32-bit latch, as two 16-bit latches, or
asfour8-bitlatches. Whenthelatchenable(LE)inputishigh,theQoutputsfollow
thedata(D)inputs. WhenLEistakenlow,theQoutputsarelatchedatthelevels
set up at the D inputs.
A buffered output enable (OE) input can be used to place the eight outputs
ineitheranormallogicstate(highorlowlogiclevels)orahigh-impedancestate.
In the high-impedance state, the outputs neither load nor drive the bus lines
significantly. TheOEinputdoesnotaffecttheinternaloperationofthelatch.
Thisdeviceisfullyspecifiedforpartialpower-downapplicationsusingIOFF.
TheIOFFcircuitrydisablestheoutputs,preventingdamagingcurrentbackflow
through the device when it is powered down.
To ensure the high-impedance state during power up or power down, OE
shouldbetiedtoVDDthroughapull-upresistor;theminimumvalueoftheresistor
is determined by the current-sinking capability of the driver.
