Shutdownof the UC2842 can be accomplishedby
twomethods; eitherraisepin3 above1V orpull pin
1 below a voltage two diode drops above ground.
Either method cause the output of the PWM com-
parator to be high (refer to block diagram). The
PWMlatch is reset dominant so that the outputwill
remain low until the next clock cycle after theshut-
downconditionatpins1and/or3isremoved.Inone
example, an externally latched shutdown may be
accomplishedby addingan SCRwhichwillbereset
bycyclingV
i
belowthelowerUVLOthreshold.Atthis
pointthereferenceturnsoff,allowingtheSCRtore-
set.
