RS232 in a box has been designed for
engineers trying to sort out the ever-trying
problems associated with RS232 hardware.
These problems are usually associated with
non-standard interfaces - commonly found
during product development.
RS232 in a Box contains all the basic
information and hardware required to connect
equipment together. Various adapters are
provided to enable gender and 25/9 way cables
and connectors to interface. An RS232 mini
tester is provided to assist in unscrambling the
TX, RX, CTS, DTR pins etc. A pair of 9 way D
connectors with screw terminals are included to
enable custom interface patches to be quickly
tested prior to making up the final cable.
The RS232 in a Box also comes with a booklet
describing the interface, protocol, problems and
solutions and some application ideas for custom
testers. These testers - 300 baud repeater,
mouse stick, data logger, XON/XOFF tester and
ASCII monitor - are based on the PIC Micro and
source code is provided on the accompanying
3.5" disk.
RS232 in a Box is supplied in a rugged carrying
case to help ensure the contents are not lost or
damaged.
