GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The MSM9405 is a communication controller conforming to IrDA, the international standard for
infra-red data communication. The device covers the IrDA physical specifications Ver.1.0 and
1.1.
Since the device performs some of the functions concerning communication protocol control,
the load on the software (firmware) for protocol control can be reduced. By combining the
device with another microcontroller and an infra-red receiver/transmitter module, a device
provided with IrDA-compliant communication function can be configured.
