GENERAL DESCRIPTION
ML63187 and ML63189 are CMOS 4-bit microcontorollers which support dot matrix LCDs and feature the OKI-original nX-
4/250 CPU core. The ML63187 contains 16K-word program memory, 1024-nibble data memory, two 4-bit input/out-put
ports, an 8-bit shift register, LCD drivers for a maximum of 720 segments, and a melody circuit. The ML63189 contains 32K-
word program memory, 1536-nibble data memory, 4-bit input port, four 4-bit input/output ports, an 8-bit shift register, LCD
drivers for a maximum of 1024 segments, and a melody circuit.

Rich instruction set: 412 instructions
Transfer, rotate, increment/decrement, arithmetic operations, comparison, logic operations, mask operations, bit
operations, ROM table reference, stack operations, flag operations, branch, conditional branch, call/return, and
control.
Rich selection of addressing modes
Indirect addressing of four data memory types, with current bank register, extra bank register, HL register and XY
register. Data memory bank-internal direct addressing mode.
Operating frequency
Two clocks per machine cycle, with most instructions executed in one machine cycle.
