State/Definition
Powerup, Forward Battery.
Normal talk and battery feed state. Pin PT is positive with respect to
PR. On-hook transmission is enabled. Current limit is set per R
PROG
resistor.
Powerup, Reverse Battery.
Normal talk and battery feed state. Pin PT is negative with respect
to PR. On-hook transmission is enabled. Current limit is set per R
PROG
resistor.
Powerup, Forward Battery, High Current Limit.
Normal talk and battery feed state. Pin PT is
positive with respect to PR. On-hook transmission is enabled. Current limit is a nominal 1.4 times
higher than setting per R
PROG
resistor.
Powerup, Reverse Battery, High Current Limit.
Normal talk and battery feed state. Pin PT is
negative with respect to PR. On-hook transmission is enabled. Current limit is a nominal 1.4 times
higher than setting per R

Low-Power Scan.
Except for off-hook detection, all circuits are shut down to conserve power. Pin
PT is positive with respect to pin PR. On-hook transmission is disabled.

The tip and ring amplifiers are turned off, and the SLIC goes to a high-impedance
state (>100 k
). Supervision outputs read on hook. Device will power up in this state.
