8 Application Information
The benefits of AS5132 are as follows:
n Complete system-on-chip, no angle calibration required
n Flexible system solution provides absolute serial, PWM and incremental output formats
n Ideal for applications in harsh environments due to magnetic sensing principle
n High reliability due to non-contact sensing
n Robust system, tolerant to horizontal misalignment, airgap variations, temperature variations and external magnetic fields
n External clock mode for PWM output
8.1 Physical Placement of the Magnet
The best linearity can be achieved by placing the center of the magnet exactly over the defined center of the IC package as shown in Figure 22.

The centre of the Hall sensor array is shifted by a constant value in x axis indicated by the blue circle. In the application it is important to refer to
this point.
