The steady state thermal model for the ACPL-3130 is
shown in Figure 32.The thermal resistance values given
inthismodelcanbeusedtocalculatethetemperatures
ateachnodeforagivenoperatingcondition.Asshown
bythemodel,allheatgeneratedflowsthroughqCAwhich
raises the case temperatureTCaccordingly.Thevalueof
qCAdependsontheconditionsoftheboarddesignandis,
therefore,determinedbythedesigner.ThevalueofqCA=
83°C/Wwasobtainedfromthermalmeasurementsusinga
2.5x2.5inchPCboard,withsmalltraces(nogroundplane),
asingleACPL-3130solderedintothecenteroftheboard
and still air. The absolute maximum power dissipation
deratingspecificationsassumeaqCAvalueof83°C/W.
