5. PROM PROGRAMMING
The
μ
PD78P054 and 78P058 have an on-chip 32-Kbyte and 60-Kbyte PROM as a program memory. For
programming, set the PROM programming mode by the V
PP
and RESET pins. For connecting unused pins, refer to
PIN CONFIGURATIONS (Top View) (2) PROM programming mode
.
Caution
The program of the
μ
PD78P054 should be written in the address range 0000H to 7FFFH (the last
address, 7FFFH, should be specified). The program of the
μ
PD78P058 should be written in the
address range 0000H to EFFFH (the last address, EFFFH, should be specified). Writing cannot
be performed with a PROM programmer that cannot specify the write addresses.
5.1
Operating Modes
When +5 V or +12.5 V is applied to the V
PP
pin and a low level signal is applied to the RESET pin, the PROM
programming mode is set. This mode will become the operating mode as shown in Table 5-1 when the CE, OE and
PGM pins are set as shown.
Further, when the read mode is set, it is possible to read the contents of the PROM.
